What NOT to Burn in Your Fireplace
A crackling fire is so cozy on a cold day. But to avoid safety hazards, never burn these items in your fireplace: wet wood, Christmas trees, paper with colored print, household plastic, plywood, particle board, or chipboard.
You can, however, safely use rolled-up white papers from old phone directories as fire-starters.
