TRULEAP MEMBERSHIP PERKS

Capital Credits

TruLeap Technologies is a member-owned cooperative. When you sign up for a new service, your $1.00 membership charge entitles you to receive all the benefits of a member/owner of TruLeap. Our Board of Directors assesses our financial condition each year. When revenues exceed expenses, we allocate the excess income back to you based on the amount you have spent with us. That amount is called a capital credit* and is kept under your name until our financial condition allows us to give that back to you in the form of a refund check. These checks may continue for years, so it is important to keep your mailing address with us current.

*Phone and Internet services qualify for earned capital credits. Equipment and other services do not qualify.

Annual Meeting

We have a meeting of our members every year to elect Board members. At this meeting, we serve a delicious meal and give away door prizes and gift bags. The event is usually held in March, and we send out advance notice. Plan to join us if you can, it’s a really great event and just one of the perks of doing business with a co-op.

Scholarships

Each year TruLeap provides several scholarships to graduating high school students that reside in our serving areas. The applications are available on our website and in our office in early spring every year.  We also sponsor students in a partnership with the Foundation for Rural Services for college scholarships.

CoBank Sharing Success Program

We have participated in the CoBank Sharing Success Program since 2014 and have, in conjunction with CoBank, provided $121,939 to community improvement projects. Among those projects: we have helped to facilitate a new shading area and sign for The Boys and Girls Club; helped the Filer School District create a new space for the kids in the Intermediate School Library; provided equipment for the Filer Police and Fire Departments; and provided paint to Buhl Family Network for their upstairs remodel. CoBank recognizes that their customers often know best where funding can most effectively be provided to benefit their communities. Since the program was established in 2012, CoBank and its customers have together contributed more than $76 million to groups such as volunteer fire departments, local schools, and hunger relief programs.

Community Involvement

The staff of TruLeap Technologies is dedicated to supporting the communities in which we live and work. Every year, we participate in events to raise funds for charitable organizations, such as Walk for Wishes, and Relay for Life. Our staff members hold positions in the Filer High School Booster Club as well as contributing to many other local events. We are proud to support schools, sports programs, and charitable organizations all over Magic Valley.

In 2018, we formed Operation Secret Santa and have been able to help make Christmas special by providing food, toys, and clothes to many families in the area. Operation Secret Santa now involves many businesses and volunteers in the community and in 2022 was able to help 60 families and approximately 172 kids have an amazing Christmas. The food drive that we hold every year has expanded to allow us to provide a year-long food bank for those in need in our area.
